I’d love to show you some pictures from the wedding I photographed in Guernsey a few months back. There’s so much I love about this wedding, but more than anything the couple & their family + the Island of Guernsey.
The first time I went to Guernsey was when I was 15, to learn English. I fell in love with the island and it’s charm already back then and went back in 2012 to do a photography course photographing a farmer and his milk farm. If possible I learnt to love the island, and it’s people, even more at that point and was therefor thrilled when Marina and John asked me to fly over for their wedding this summer.
Marina is the cousin of another bride of mine, Diana, who’s wedding I photographed in Scarborough a few years back (you can find that wedding here). It’s always really lovely to come back and shoot a wedding when you know quite a few of the guests and family members. Marina’s family had invited me to stay at their farm for the weekend and to say that I was well looked after is a real understatement, as they made me feel so welcome and very much like a family member. It felt like I had know them all for years and I am so unbelievable grateful to have been invited and so well looked after, for the whole of my stay.
The wedding itself was nothing short of marvellous. The island with it’s beauty, the classic Morgan the couple brought over to drive around the island with for the weekend, the beautiful church, the marquee, the people, the caterer & the food, the speeches, the dancing, the children, well all of it was nothing short of perfect.
M + J. Thank you. I’m over the moon that I got to be there for your wedding and to capture it all. You are both amazing people and so caring and good hearted. Thank you for everything!
Lot’s of love, always, A
