Last week I photographed Kerry & Ross’ amazing wedding at Babington House in Somerset and it was the most wonderful day.

Babington House is a gorgeous venue south of Bath located in the English countryside. It’s great for photography both inside out, with it’s lovely grounds & surroundings and it’s light, trendy interior. In addition the staff here is extremely professional, helpful and friendly. Oh, and the food is outstanding! To top it the most beautiful little picturesque chapel is only meters away from the main house and one of my absolute favorite places to hold a wedding ceremony.

Having never met Kerry or Ross before (they live on Jersey) I was excited and nervous on the morning of the wedding. As I walked in to the bridal suite I was met by the most warm energy and smiles all around. Kerry instantly took my breath away with her gorgeous looks and true inner beauty. I didn’t have to spend more than a few minutes with her to realize I’d found gold. I spent the first hour or so photographing details and general preparations before heading over to the other building to get some informal pictures of Ross and his best men getting ready and having a laugh. Soon thereafter Kerry and Ross got married and celebrations with friends and family was in full swing.

During the Champagne reception we sneaked of for 20 minutes or so to take some relaxed pictures of Kerry & Ross on their own walking the grounds, having a few cuddles and a bit of fun. It’s amazing how a little countryside path or an old fence, or even a hammock, can look so good when you have one newly wed, in-love, gorgeous couple in front of the camera!

K + R. I felt so welcome right from the very first moment I set foot at Babington and met the two of you. Your warm ways and happy smiles are contagious and you’re such a pleasure to be around. I was moved again and again throughout the day by your love, laughter and kind ways. The love you have for each other is evident and fills each room you pass. You are amazing together! Thank you so much for having me and for treating me to photograph your special day. And have I mentioned the food was great! Thank you.

Here’s a little selection of images from the day.

Lot’s of love to all and remember to take some extra time to enjoy each other and life! A

In the beginning of June I photographed the wedding of Nicole & Carl at Woodlands Park Hotel in Cobham, Surrey. It was a beautiful day with close friends and family for the day and a big party in the evening.

Nicole looked beautiful and had lot’s of sparkling details like her shoes, tiara, bracelet and ear-rings to match. After the ceremony we walked the grounds of Woodlands for some relaxed pictures and crossed the country road for some pictures by the field and fence. I had planned for us to go inside the field for some romantic images of just the two of them walking along, however plans changed slightly when we were greeted by two horses hungry to munch wedding flowers and bridal hair! After a few pictures they seemed content and walked of and we managed to take some pictures just outside the meadow at least! As we walked back we took a few quick snaps of N + C walking in the middle of the street and it looks like a calm, quiet country street, but what you don’t see is the line of cars waiting behind me, supporting that one shot all the way. Anyway, it was happy hurrays as they passed a minute of so later.

Nicole & Carl. I really enjoyed being part of your wedding celebrations and all the touching and heart warming events throughout the day. I had to pop into the bathroom several times that day to fix my make up as you and your family had me in tears during the ceremony and again during speeches. You’re amazing together and I loved to see you so close together, laughing and smiling all day! Thank you also for the food.

Here’s a little taster from their day. Lot’s of love for all, as always. A

A few years ago I photographed the wedding of Kelly & Clive at Woodlands Park Hotel in Cobham and little did I know back then what a great friendship I was about to make.

Since their wedding Kelly and I have kept in touch and met up on several occasions throughout the years and it was so nice to see her and her siblings Lucy (who I’ve also got to know a bit over the last couple of years) and Gary in the park a few weeks back to photograph them all together with their own little families for mum’s big birthday surprise!

We had an afternoon with lot’s of fun; a picnic, bubbles, fishing (not really but kind of…), climbing trees and just fun in general.

Kelly, Lucy and Gary. You have such a beautiful family and it’s wonderful to see and to photograph this special time you all had together. You are the nicest people I know and your kids are so beautiful and fun! Thank you for letting me take your pictures and I am really pleased to hear that your mum loved her album. That’s all I could ever wish for. Take care of each other and hope to catch up again soon.

Lot’s of love, A.

This is the lovely Kelly and her beautiful daughter

The 3 siblings and their families together

Not sure if this nose kiss was intentional, but it was cute…

This is one of my absolute favorites!

These two cousins are beautiful together in print, but even more so in real life…

Serbian Wedding, London – Carolyn & Veljko

June 8th, 2010

I just love myself some culture and if you know me, even the slightest, you know I am crazy about people, religion, culture and traveling. So when I photographed the wedding of Carolyn & Veljko at the Serbian-Orthodox church in Notting Hill during the end of May bank holiday weekend I was more than pleased. The Serbian culture has many treasures and I would recommend anyone to get involved and enjoy part of it when you can, in fact the Serbian council’s website publishes a table of events on their website every month and it’s totally worth checking it out to enjoy some of it’s music, food and festivals for the summer: http://www.serbiancouncil.org.uk/EventsThisMonth.html.

The ceremony took place in Saint Sava Serbian-Orthodox church in West London. I’ve photographed here before and love this church so much as it’s big and bright and people get to stand up around the couple throughout the ceremony which makes it really personal and close. The priests here are wonderful and at one point during the ceremony one of them even came up to me and told me to come closer and move around as much as I wanted. Wow, thank you! The service is breath taking throughout and very romantic.

After the ceremony I took the new Mr & Mrs of for a little walk around the streets of Notting Hill to get the city vibe in the pictures. We started of at a quiet street close to church with some lovely light and relaxed shots, then a 5 minute walk later we ended up on Portobello Road and found some funky backdrops to play with. It was a great little walk with some very relaxed and spontaneous photography along the way.

As we returned to the reception the party was going strong. People laughing, dancing, eating and enjoying themselves. Up and about, talking to each other, joking, laughing, drinking and having fun. It was a real treasure to witness and a real pleasure to photograph. The bride and groom was introduced and walked into the room with the Serbian flag held high and music to match in the background. People flooded to the dance floor and traditional South European dancing was in place.

C + V, where do I start? Since the first moment I met you I instantly clicked with you. It felt like I’d known you for years and on the day I felt so welcomed and relaxed by yourself, but also by your friends and family. Carolyn, you are so beautiful and I could hardly put my camera down for a second with you in front of it. I so enjoyed sharing in your wedding celebrations and truly enjoyed all your rituals and traditions throughout the day! The food was fabulous and really appreciated and your wedding cake was…what’s the word…dangerously delicious! Thank you so, so much for having me, for coming with me on our walk, for sailing through portobello road and for being so relaxed and fun throughout the day.

On Friday I was the photographer for a wedding at one of my favorite churches in central London; Farm Street Church. It’s an impressive little catholic church hidden away in the backstreets of Mayfair. From a photographers point of view it’s great as it’s light, you have lot’s of room to move around the back, front and sides and the priest is all for photography throughout the service. Cordelia and Nicholas had a beautiful ceremony here on late Friday afternoon and it was even more personal and touching as it was Cordelia’s godfather marrying her.

After church the grooms men (all 7 of them..) ushered guests a couple of blocks to the nearby Dartmouth house for drinks and canapes while I took the couple of for about 20 minutes in and around the streets of Mayfair. I love shooting weddings right in the centre of London as it provides the pictures with a real city feel and just walking the streets for some relaxed, informal pictures is such great fun. C + N had people applauding outside bars and restaurants and even ran into a some friends during our little walk. A few doors, some typical London buildings along with some picturesque city streets made a perfect backdrop for this lovely couple.

C + N, I feel so honored to be part of your special day and to have the opportunity to capture the beginning of your life together. You are such an amazing couple and have such a deep love and respect for each other. You laugh a lot and seem so complete when you are together. Thank you so much for having me photograph your wedding, I feel so grateful that you picked me to be there to share the love. Have a lovely honeymoon!

I’ve been really busy over bank holiday weekend, so keep an eye out for more shoots and weddings here on the blog in the near future.

As I was shooting details in Cordelia’s room in the morning I found a pile of art books on her bedside table, and as she works in an art gallery what better than to incorporate these with her shoes for a personal pic.

Again, what better place to hang C’s dress than on a painting of her as little…

I love this picture of dad writing his speech in the office, as his daughter was getting ready in the room next door…

The boys were having beers in the pub right next door to the church as I arrived.

All 8 of them…

Gorgeous Farm street church.

The whole bridal party walking the streets of London…

I love this picture of C during Nicholas speech.
